A next generation Incident Command Unit (ICU) for South Wales FRS is to be equipped by Excelerate Technology, who are also contracted to provide managed satellite services to the Unit.  This mobile capability will be deployed at major incidents across the South Wales region enabling the sharing of critical information – data, video and voice – to support incident management.

Based on the success of the current ICU supplied by Excelerate, South Wales FRS now move forward in the procurement of this new generation Mercedes Sprinter ICU that will be delivered in 2016 and will serve to strengthen communications resilience and the operational response of the Service.
