DDMI simplifies and accelerates deployment by automating the process of the on-board systems. Users can be confident in the safe and sequential system set up, avoiding power surges and user errors.
In today’s ‘connected world’, managing and responding to a whole host of operations and incidents, or even just having access to a central interface to control all systems in one place, requires more than just a traditional vehicle, radio communications and whiteboards. It requires a mobile platform capable of connecting responders and other personnel to real-time information to support critical and real-time decision making.
Projects may have become more complex but the operation which now includes AV management systems, cloud-based applications, IT hardware and communication networks and infrastructures, doesn’t have to be.
DDMI brings simplicity and clarity to complex operational environments. By working closely with our responder community over our 20-year history, we have developed DDMI into a solution that pulls all of the onboard systems into ONE intuitive interface to be used in a myriad of settings and markets, simplifying how users interact with technology, improving ease of use and reducing downtime. HOME SCREEN

The Home Navigation Screen identifies each module within the interface and incorporates an alert system for each page. The alert system notifies the user of activity from within a specific function, enabling the operator to immediately monitor and control the area of interest

STATUS OF SYSTEMS

Real time display and identification of the integrated systems and hardware provides a constant view of operational status and health. Easy to identify status via the automated colour alert of each system.

POWER MANAGEMENT OF SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT

In addition to the DDMI hardware ‘one touch button’ operation, operators will have access to a dedicated power management interface, which includes as standard:
  • Visual identification of the on-board hardware and rack mounted equipment
  • Display of power status i.e. ON/OFF
  • Ability for user to easily identify installed equipment without physical interrogation and re-boot and turn on/off individual systems/equipment, if required

CUSTOM POWER MODES

Excelerate can customise and automate power modes based on user requirements to support different operational scenarios. Example customer modes include transit mode, whereby some systems are required during drive time or when returning to base for system updates/data transfer. Additional power options can be configured and controlled within the Power Management Interface.

CONNECTIVITY AND NETWORK MANAGEMENT

DDMI is configured with the installed communications/connectivity providing simplified control and management of the individual systems.
  • Real time tracking and visual identification of the heading of the vehicle, satellite direction and signal indication of the installed satellite platform (both on the move and stationary options i.e. flat panel and auto-point platform).
  • The DDMI’s integrated electronic compass ensures the system automates magnetic north and auto plots the information within the display.
  • Visual display and clear identification of the multi-bearer connections with live monitoring of the traffic and data transfer on each one.
  • Easy management of user groups. Agreed pre-sets can be included, customer examples include an enable/disable button for the incident commander, crew, and multi-agency users but can be configured for any customer and in any environment.
  • Management of usage limits and bandwidth prioritisation allocation

SATELLITE CONTROL

Easy to operate ‘One Touch’ deployment and stowage of the satellite hardware ‘app style icon’.
Visual display of satellite connectivity and signal strength.
The screen switching page within DDMI enables users to not only share information on their screen but also share control of any USB device, such as mice and keyboards. This is incredibly useful when hosting briefings so everyone involved can view the same information simultaneously and have the same level of shared situational awareness.

SCREEN SWITCHING

AV Management Interface

Fully integrated with the AV and USB matrix, the interface enables information to be easily shared. It will populate and provide:
  • A dashboard/visual layout of all the onboard inputs and outputs.
  • An easy and intuitive control and display of any connected input, enabling any information to be seamlessly transferred to any of the screens.
  • Remove complexity and common user errors associated with alternative systems.

ENVIRONMENTAL DATA

Configured with a roof mounted ultra-sonic anemometer (weather station) and integrated DDMI electronic compass. The interface will automatically plot the data and provide:
  • Local and real time situational awareness of prevailing wind direction and speed.
  • The system can be upgraded to include a MET Pack which would also automatically plot temperature, relative humidity, and dew point.
  • Automatic identification of magnetic north in comparison to vehicle heading (data and visual display).
  • Customers can also customise the interface and include quick links to web- based information, such as MET office data.

INTEROPERABLE VOICE CONFERENCE

Incompatible voice devices can affect interoperability. Our Communications Management Suite (CMS) solves this problem in an easy-to-use solution.
The CMS enables the patching of multiple voice devices/channels into one conference call and allows for multiple conferences to take place simultaneously.

ENHANCED SYSTEM INTEGRATION

DDMI is scalable and can be customised to specific organisations and operational requirements. Example integrations include video management and automation of vehicle systems e.g. lighting, air conditioning, hydraulic legs, vehicle body slide outs and camera mast control.
Third party applications and links can also be integrated.
Examples include: command software, physiological monitoring and access to Resilience Direct can be incorporated in to DDMI.
Developed, manufactured, and supported by our in-house team, it provides UK emergency services and any operational deployment with a ‘turnkey’ solution to flexibly integrate and operate complex systems. The software is continuously developed and supported by our dedicated software developers providing updates and bug fixes in addition to integration and user advancements. It also allows us to work with customers to include additional tailored user functionality and bespoke integration.

The Joint Command Unit has been designed and built to be shared between multiple agencies, so it was essential that the operational requirements of every organisation be considered early on.
The vehicle has been engineered to accommodate ICT changes in the future – ultimately, it’s a headquarters on wheels that gives everyone the same level of situational awareness, leading to more effective decision making.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

The hardware is a 2U Rack mountable 9-36V DC powered, fan-less, ruggedised, low power consumption processor unit equipped with solid state disk.
It is fully configured with the installed systems and provides as standard:
  • Built in GPS – providing location and tracking
  • Accurate time server (local NTP server) synchronising all of the on board systems.
  • Electronic compass – automates the vehicle orientation/direction enabling integrated applications and interfaces to automatically display and plot data without manual invention.
  • A one button operation to support the automatic and sequential power up/shutdown of the onboard equipment.
  • Dual Colour LED – Green (on) Red (off)
  • A Minimal mode button enabling customers to pre-define a standard minimum system set up that can be initiated with a ONE button control.
  • Self-diagnostics/Status Indicator.
  • Built in independent cellular connectivity provision, enabling remote support and management without the vehicle needing to be fully set up.
