On Tuesday July 26 Excelerate Technology marked its tenth anniversary with a small celebration at its corporate headquarters in Wales. With the business now operating at an international level, with major contracts in operation in both the public and private sectors, and with a reputation for cutting edge leadership in the fast growing satellite and wireless communications markets, there was much to celebrate.
David Savage, Co-Founder and CEO, commented on his company’s success at its 10th anniversary.
‘As we celebrate our tenth anniversary it is with immense pride that I look back at what we have achieved, in a business which my sales director, colleague and friend Martin Saunders and I started around my family’s dining room. I am so proud of what we do and who our customers are, but we mustn’t forget that during this past ten years our business has been spurred on by a number of terrible tragedies from 9/11 in New York to 7/7 in London, as well as many other major disasters and accidents.
‘Our job remains as it was at the beginning - to help prepare this country and others to meet the many public safety threats and challenges within civil contingency and homeland security, threats which continue to be significant.
‘I salute our fantastic staff and the wonderful, often pioneering customers who make up the very important partnerships that form the bedrock of our business. I am also so pleased that in our own modest way we are now making such an important contribution to the economy and the exchequer, having increased employment seven fold in four years, a far cry from my dining room table ten years ago.
‘I would also like to thank my family for their support and faith, because I don’t think it is often appreciated what a difference this makes in taking the seed of an idea and turning it into what we are now. They have made a massive contribution to what we have become. Here’s to the next ten years.’
Martin Saunders, Co-Founder and Sales Director, also commented: ‘I am very proud of everybody who has got us here and I would like to thank all our loyal and supportive customers.’
Tim Macleod-Clark, a non-executive Chairman, said: ‘It must be a very proud day when a company reaches its 10th anniversary, and to do so as one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK. This is purely due to the superb efforts of all the excellent staff.’
